Central Florida Accordion Club Featured Member Judy Blankenship |

Judy’s interest in playing a musical instrument began at the age of 11 with piano lessons. After a couple of years studying classical piano, she wanted to play with the band, so she took “a few” accordion lessons. Interest in the accordion lagged and, ultimately, there was no interest. The accordion took up residence and collected dust in a closet. |

Judy eventually bought an organ and taught herself to play for her own amazement, thereby keeping up her skill of reading music. Interest in the accordion was renewed a couple of years ago after the accordion was rescued from the closet and, through Vince Aleandri, was introduced to the CFAC. Her great love is “hitting the road” with her husband in their motor home. Of course, the accordion goes along and always draws a crowd around the campfire. She especially enjoys playing the good ‘ole standard tunes and easy listening music. |
