Ed Czarniak is originally from Connecticut. He started with one year of accordion lessons at age eleven. Ed learned and played on his own throughout his school years. His interest in playing subsided when in 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent most of his four year tour in Germany. Following his discharge, he married, raised a son and picked up the accordion once in a while. In 1991, he bought his first new accordion, a midi model. After a year of study and learning to play an electronic accordion, he started to take jobs as a one-man band, playing in clubs and at private parties under the name of "Sentimental Journey". He specialized in American standards and ethnic music. Ed moved to Florida in 2002 and returned to playing an acoustic accordion, which in his view expresses the feeling he puts into his music much better. His goal is to someday play strolling music. |
