Central Florida Accordion Club
Brevard County Chapter
History
In May 2005,  Brevard County’s local newspaper FLORIDA TODAY featured CFAC activities
including a photo of  Rod Hall playing the accordion.  Numerous readers called Rod, indicating an
interest in getting together with other accordion players in the area.

In June, a preliminary meeting was held in Melbourne to determine interest in joining the CFAC.
Six new members joined the six current members, and the Brevard County Chapter of CFAC was
established, with Rod as the chapter director.
The first meeting as a chapter of CFAC was held at the Central Brevard Library in Cocoa.  A total
of 16 people attended, 10 of them accordionists.

The “Grand Rollout” meeting for the Brevard County Chapter was held in August with  27 people
attending.  A highlight of the meeting was a 15-minute jam session featuring seven players.  Another
highlight was the special cake for the occasion, decorated with an accordion and musicial notes.
Three new members signed up at the meeting, bringing the total to 20 CFAC members residing in
Brevard County.

The chapter has grown to more than forty members since its inception and continues to meet at
Cocoa Library on Forrest Avenue in Cocoa.
